I’m thinking of children today, thinking about what kind of life they should be living in the future, thinking about the happiness they get to be showered, thinking about them.. just thinking..
I saw a family of two, mother and son today, while on my way to work, one of the busiest places, it was the town filled with working people on the weekdays and party animals during the weekends and festive seasons.. Yes, today might be your yesterday, but today’s today is a Thursday..
They aroused my attention, no offenses but they do not look like belong to the modern society.
Boy’s Mom carries a black polka dotted tote bag, which looks like it was from the 8Os..
Boy carries a retro sling bag, orange and black.. and it looked like it was from one of the 2nd hand marts somehow. He carries a sling-ed water bottle, has messy hair..
Appearance, like i said, its what they are wearing which makes them look special, no sarcasms whatsoever: I can’t recall how boy’s mom dressed herself, so i presume she looks rather ok.. what caught my attention was the boy, dressed in a Cartoon character tee, a pair of shorts that we would only wear to bed nowadays..
Both of them were speaking in cantonese, but i’m pretty sure they are locals.
Surprisingly, boy is giggling along with his mother. I’m definitely sure, they still have their sanity.
Arose from this attention which led me thinking..
We had been pursuing all our materialistic needs and thinking that money is about everything in life..
Have we lost what i saw just now? Love? Kinship?
Or just a battling war between families over rights, inheritance or perhaps more from their predecessors?
Paid Sex?
Divorces over arguments?
Incapability to accept whoever for whatever?
Bringing the Past into the future?
And for everything else?
I’m thinking, are we, fit enough to be parents for our kids in the future? Even if we are poor, are we able to bring the kinship and love to them?
Or will we get frustrated and become a ragefully vengeful person just because we are as poor as the rat in the church house?
Will we be straitened by all these burdens, problems and challenges for our upcoming Further developing adulthood?
Are we able not to only provide our offspring with food, water and a shelter but also Love, Warmth, Care and Concern?
Lastly: Are we even be fit enough to be married? THEN have children?
Money’s everything that could be provided to our children, they bring love and joy as well.. Well this statement.. I beg to differ.
Children are the love essences of many fond wishes, once they lived in that blissful happiness.
Love,
C.E
